Our workshops are available in three formats: half-day (3 hours), full-day (6 hours), or two-day sessions, covering a wide range of topics to suit your needs. Brent Heidorn Physical Education Workshop Presenter

Brent Heidorn

Brent is the Associate Dean for Research and Assessment in the College of Education at the University of West Georgiai n Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education at the University of West Georgia . Prior to this appointment, he was the program coordinator of the Health and Physical Education Teacher Education program where he has served since 2007. He received his doctoral degree in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina and has been teaching health and physical education content since 1996. Brent has done more than 300 presentations at the national, state, and district levels, including more than 100 professional development workshops. Brent is a national presenter for the Presidential Youth Fitness Program (PYFP), Physical Best, and Implementing the new National Standards, all supported by SHAPE America. He has received numerous awards throughout his career and is an annually invited guest presenter for several school districts in Georgia. Brent’s presentation topics primarily include effective instruction in physical education, fitness principles from exercise science, skill development and fitness activities in physical education, comprehensive school physical activity programs, and a variety of coaching topics. Brent has been a consistent presenter for Mark Manross Consulting for the past 10 years.

Brian Culp Physical Education Workshop Presenter

Dr. Brian Culp is a professor of health and physical activity leadership in the WellStar College of Health and Human Services at Kennesaw State University. An adventurer and lifelong learner, Brian’s area of focus includes physical literacy, culturally responsive teaching and learning, youth development, sport, and intergenerational health and physical activity. He has shared his expertise to organizations such as Physical Education Health Education Canada, Sport for Life, SHAPE America, the Centers for Disease Control, the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and numerous school systems around the globe. A recipient of numerous awards, Dr. Culp is a Fellow of the National Association of Kinesiology in Higher Education, (NAKHE) and the North American Society for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sport (SHAPE America). Internationally, Dr. Culp has been a Fulbright Scholar and visiting research chair in Montreal, Canada, a Fulbright-Hays program participant to Kenya, and currently serves as a Fulbright Specialist for the organization. He has taught and held K-12 Health and Physical Education certifications in the states of Georgia and Indiana.

Misti Mueller Health and Physical Education Workshop Presenter

Misti has 18 years of public school experience and currently is in her sixth year in higher education. She received her Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from VCU, is Nationally Board Certified, and earned her PhD in education. She has presented at the National, State, and local levels specifically on the topics of pedagogy and incorporating technology into the field of health and physical education as a means to enhance the educational experience for students. Misti was chosen as the Virginia Middle School Physical Educator of the Year in 2004, the National Health Educator K-12 in 2010, and was just recently selected as the College/University Physical Educator for the state of Virginia for 2015. She is a prolific presenter for PE Central and is loved by teachers who attend her workshops. She loves to present for K-12 PE teachers and is great with technology and project based learning.

Tara Blackshear

Towson University

Towson, MD

Tara B. Blackshear is an equity scholar specializing in health, physical activity, and education. She is an Associate Professor of Kinesiology and Program Coordinator of the Physical Education Teacher Education program at Towson University. Dr. Blackshear is the first Black woman to earn tenure in her department. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in physical education at Florida A&M University and a doctorate in education in Exercise and Sport Science at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Before her current role, Dr. Blackshear taught for 17 years in public, private, charter, and international schools in the United States, Egypt, and Thailand. She also had a three-year post at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, working to prevent type II diabetes among middle school youth in the most extensive school-based physical activity intervention in the United States, instrumental to her recent project - BLinG-Health - Black Leadership in Girls' Health. She aims to assist Black girls and young women in physical activity leadership, increasing physical activity, improving health outcomes, and fostering a pipeline to the health and physical activity professions, as these fields grossly lack Black women's representation.

Dave Sencal physical education workshop presenter

Dave Senecal

Dave Senecal, a trailblazer in physical education, has made a significant impact in Paulding County since 1997. A Kennesaw State University graduate with a master's degree from Western Kentucky University, Dave founded programs at Nebo Elementary and P.B. Ritch Middle School, earning Teacher of the Year awards in 2012 and 2015. His influence extends statewide, winning honors like the 2015 GAHPERD and Southern District SHAPE Middle School Teacher of the Year.

Dedicated to advancing physical education, Dave helped develop Georgia's PE standards in 2008 and helped revise the standards in 2018.  A recognized national consultant, Dave has shared his expertise at workshops across the country, leaving an enduring legacy in the world of physical education. As a recreational leader, Dave's achievements include chairing GAHPERD, winning the 2010 GAHPERD Recreation Specialist of the Year, and leading the Paulding SORBA mountain biking club, where he helped install 20+ miles of trails.

An advocate for diverse activities, he has secured grants for middle school programs in rugby, mountain biking, and more. Dave shares his expertise nationwide as a consultant and is the author of four books dedicated to physical education. PEPALOOZA Volumes 1-4. Dave and his wife also run a dance school serving over 300 students weekly. In his spare time, he enjoys trial running, cycling, wilderness survival, and inventing, exemplifying a true renaissance educator.

Cindy Kuhrasch physical education workshop presenter professional development

Cindy Kuhrasch has had the opportunity to teach Health and Physical education to students in grades K-12, and undergraduate students as well. She is currently employed as a faculty associate in the Kinesiology Department at the University of Wisconsin where she teaches courses in methodology, assessment community development and kinesiology. In addition, Cindy has served as a consultant in many school districts, working in the areas of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and technology. Cindy has over 25 years’ experience in course development, implementation and evaluation. She has presented on a wide variety of education topics at state, district, and national conventions, and has written numerous articles published in national educational journals. She loves presenting about social and emotional learning in PE anc classroom/behavior management in PE.
